Man pleads guilty in Concord bank fraud case
William Shaw was accused of stealing more than $674,000 in a scheme targeting Citizens Bank branches.

A man accused of stealing more than $674,000 in a scheme targeting Citizens Bank branches in Concord and elsewhere has pleaded guilty to all charges, court records show.
William Shaw admitted to four counts each of bank fraud and aggravated identity theft on September 30 as part of an agreement with federal prosecutors.
His attorney, E. Peter Parker, didn’t respond to Concord Bridge questions about the deal.
Concord police arrested Shaw in 2025 at the bank branch then on Lowell Road. Shaw’s federal indictment said he’d been posing as Citizens customers and withdrawing funds from their accounts since late 2022.
Shaw’s case is related to one in which defendants allegedly recruited people to pose as account customers, prosecutors said. Three defendants in that matter have pleaded guilty, per court records.
Shaw’s charges carry maximum penalties totaling more than 30 years behind bars, according to his plea deal.
Prosecutors promised to recommend a 4.75-year sentence, plus three years of supervised release. He and other defendants from the related case would have to jointly pay back just over $900,000 in restitution if the judge accepts the prosecution’s recommendations.
Shaw’s sentencing is set for January.
